Six Characters in Search of an Author
For the fall of 2016, I directed an updated version of Pirandello's 1921 Modernist classic, adapted for WSU by Steve Moulds. We were lucky to have Moulds in residence. Through improv and devised work we created an entirely new beginning to the play specific to our cast and our audience. Our goals for the production were to blur the boundaries between reality and illusion, to implicate the audience, and to question the purpose of theatre itself. I was pleased with how well this classic play worked for our student audience.
